Watercolor class

I attended my first night of my new watercolor class last evening. It was very basic, we learned about color theory; primary, secondary and intermediate colors. And then how opposites on the color wheel create neutral grays/browns. Which we then practiced. We also practiced water control, a wash, and brush strokes. Some of it seemed very basic to me, yet some of it was interesting to hear from a different viewpoint. I like the instructor. He is an older hippie guy with long gray hair pulled back in a ponytail. He's quite talkative and I learned he's been married 4 times, most recently to a student from his class 7 years ago.

I'm looking forward to the next 4 Monday nights. It's always fun to paint, visit with other painters and forget all your cares.

That's nice that class was fun and you like your teacher. Even though you know the basics of watercolor, sometimes just going over those begining steps brings out something new.

It will be fun to see what else comes from this class. Hopefully not a new husband. ;)
