Home again, home again, jiggety jig

(This is my in-laws farmhouse where we stayed for most of the trip)

We arrived home yesterday after flying all day from Springfield, MO. Our original flight was supposed to go through Dallas, TX but was cancelled due to tornado damage. We were rerouted for the following day so have arrived home a day later than planned. I missed another day of work. Whooooooo Hooooooo! Now I only have to work today and I have the weekend to recuperate.
(a red-bud tree. I love these flowering trees!)
(I believe this was a plum tree - now I can't remember for sure.)

It was spring/summer in Missouri. It was so hard to get back on the plane to come home to AK. The first pictures I took were of flowering trees. Over the course of two weeks, more trees leafed out and it was very green by the time we left. We saw wild turkeys, lots of turtles and even a couple of snakes.

It's snowing this morning in Anchorage. I'm really, really trying to hatch a plan that will get us out of Alaska sooner and moved to Missouri.

Although it's snowing currently, there has been a lot of melting going on while I was gone. I can now see over the snowpiles on each side of the driveway and the edges of the yard have a little grass. Some of the blades are even green. A sign that spring will come here eventually too....just not as soon as for the folks in the lower '48.

Welcome home! I bet the dogs were happy to see you too. Can't wait to hear all the details. I imagine all that snow was a shock to the system after having been through one spring. You will be lucky this year and have two springs to celebrate.

Yes welcome home. Sounds like you didnt miss snow or work one bit. :) I was wondering if any of the snow had melted while you were gone. Lovely photos. Hope you can get out of AK sooner then later.
