Time

I am wishing that time passed more quickly... I don't usually think that way, but it's been rough at work lately. I am soooo tired of dealing with co-workers and end-of-year rush and problems in payroll. It would be nice to be retired and free to spend my days the way I want to spend them. But it would also mean I'd be 10 years older. I don't mind that so much I think. As long as I'm able to do the things I want to do. For those of you who are retired, are you doing all the things you want to do? Or are you still tied down with obligations, chores, and things that steal your time?

If only we could have it all. :) but I love where were are now.. age and all and retired. I think you get even busier when you retire tho. but its fun busy. Hang in there.. time seems to be flying anymore.

I am enjoying being semi-retired. One never has enough hours in the day. However I don't miss the stress of full time work. It is difficult and it seems to suck up all of one's energy. Hang in there. You will be at your place in Missouri in no time. You probably need a shot of warm weather and some daylight. Big Hugs.

I'll bet your winter blues aren't helping either :(
here's to time off and cozy cabins in the woods!
hope things calm down for you - I'll bet everyone you have to deal with is on edge a bit - with all that snow and cold you've been having!

I saw this today and thought of you!

At 70.5 I think I have the best of two worlds. Still working, but cut back my hours as a self employed mental health counselor. Have given myself longer weekends and e/o Monday off. So plenty of time to make art (even though you know full well I manage to draw/paint on work days too)! It's a good balance. Just when I think I can't listen to one more sad story or difficult issue it's MY WEEKEND!

The older I become the faster time seems to fly; a bit scary to a person who likes to fantasize living forever, but knows that's not the way it works!

I stay at home and I do not have the time to do anything I want to do.
I think to do something like art you need peace of mind. I would love a cabin in the woods in the winter, with a nice window to look out of, a fire place crackling, where I could just be myself and unfuzz my mind.Chase every one away and sit with the bears and moose and deer and rabbits. lol
That would truly be a holiday.

When I was self-employed I worked 7 days a week but it wasn't all day. Sometimes I'd only have one client and then I'd have the rest of the day. I did so much art back then! Now that we've moved back and lost all of our money, I find working full time again very stressful. And I have to say I hate working with so many women and personalities! It's like estrogen soup!

That said, I do get a paycheck but I'm not sure the stress is worth it. And I miss doing art. When I have a day off I do errands and a bit of cleaning. That's it. And I sleep alot :(

Hang in there Patty. And don't rush your age :)

Mom and Dad sure like being retired. I only work 30 or so hours a week and I still feel that I need more time. But then also, I love my job. Working at the library is the best!
