Art Show

The opening reception for the art show was last night. I thought h'our d'vours might be served but there wasn't any. Apparently some people ruin art by getting food on it, so no more food at art events at this gallery. I guess you can't always expect people to behave properly. A person came with a parrot......our recycling coordinator was appalled and was wondering to me what happens if the bird tries to fly and lands on someone's art or takes a poop? It didn't so maybe the owner knew it couldn't or wouldn't....but it makes other people concerned. There were several small children running around driving toy cars on the walls and pedestals. Besides all that, it was fun! Lots of people came out; I would guess at least a 100 - the gallery was crowded for almost two hours. I had to keep leaving the smaller gallery where the recycled art was located because it was too stuffy, crowded and got hot. The larger front galleries had a little more room so I wandered around looking at the other art on display.

One of my pieces sold first thing - the gallery gets 30%-50% commission (depending on front or back gallery) so I can see why art is priced higher at a gallery than other venues. This lady bought my Weeping Willow - you can see my Fancy Rooster behind her.
