Today I sketched Rick - I've known him almost my whole life from when I was about 9 or 10 years old. As I sketched him I became very aware of how many wrinkles his face has. When I see him every week he just looks the same to me. Today I realized he has gotten older, older than I had realized.

He looks like a beautiful man. I love wrinkles. We are all getting older...here at our house I see it so clearly all of a sudden...scary...like counting down.

He is a very kind man. And no, they don't know I'm sketching them. It's possible somebody behind me does because I have to keep glancing to the side. So far I've only been caught twice and one of those people have moved away and the other seems to have forgotten that I do it.
