My sweet Panda continues to have seizures. When I notice she has one I'm giving her some diazapam as soon as possible after she comes out of it to ward off another one. She just had one a few moments ago (woke us up), she had one yesterday and she had one Saturday morning. I don't know how many she's having that I don't notice.....it could be much more often.
We've been seeing more signs of whatever it is affecting her. She sometimes has a dazed look with vacant eyes, she occasionally appears unsteady on her feet, she pants often, and can no longer catch a tossed bit of cheese (losing coordination). All three of them used to snap, snap, snap! But no longer, the other two snap and catch the cheese in the air and Panda tries but it more often bounces off her nose and falls to the floor and another greedy dog gets her treat. I've started just placing her treat right in front of her nose so she won't lose it.
I've just given her the last of her medication so I've got to get her back into the vet for another thorough check up. I don't know what they can do for her, hopefully there is an Rx that can be taken daily to prevent seizures?

Poor Panda! Don't know if you're interested, but I have a natural approach described on my latest blog (inspired by Panda, because my Collie Chiana used to seizure and so does my mom's little Poodle).
I'm sorry to hear about Panda. But really, how can you tell a "vacant" from her normal look?
Oh how sad for her and you. I sure hope the vet can find the cause and correct treatment.

When Shine was having seizures a few years ago, the vet had something that he gave her to counteract the seizing. Hope there's something that will work for Panda! :)
I hope you both get the proper meds. How sad for Panda. It is so difficult since she can't tell you what is going on.
How sad for this doggie and you. I too hope there is a cure.
I am enjoying Catrina! Read a lot on our trip...I keep wondering if you sisters really got along that well...as it is obvious the adult you is writing about your teen self then. I wonder what it would sound like if the teen were writing it from her perspective then?
It's a good read and I am learning so much about sailing. I will give it to my Sister-I-L who is taking her first ever sailing lessons now in her 50's.
