Doldrums

I've been in the doldrums all week. If you don't know what that word means, I looked it up for you. It means: a period of stagnation or slump. Or it could be described as being on a sailboat in the middle of the ocean and there is absolutely no wind and your boat is bobbing around aimlessly and there's nothing you can do about it.

Last week I had a migraine for about 3 to 4 days off and on. And I haven't been sleeping well - I don't know if it's because I now know how much sleep I'm not getting or if it's just getting worse day by day. I have another doctor appt next Monday and then soon after that I should get my c-pap machine so I will sleep like a baby (someone else's peaceful baby, not the ones I had!) In addition, I'm having some employee issues at work and life is not nearly as wonderful on the job as it used to be so I've been a little bummed out.

Panda has been doing well since last week's seizure. No more that I know of.

I found Carina - this is the boat my family used to own back in 1976 through 1980. She is in a boat yard in San Diego and the price is ONLY $1,900. She's been completely torn apart in anticipation of being refurbished and then the guy who was going to rebuild her abandoned her. So now she is selling cheap - the perfect project for any of you who want to go on a sailing adventure! I want someone to buy her and fix her up and sail her around the world. Any takers?

The boat yard that is selling Carina has posted these pictures and more. Now you know what the inside looks like. See where the table is and that seat behind it. That was my bed when we lived on board. I was a lot thinner then.

Makes me kind of sad to see her that way. We sure did have some times on her though.

I sure hope you are feeling better PA.

A good person needs to buy the boat and fix it up...wouldn't that be nice?

It is amazing to me that people can make something that will last like that! Travis and I looked to see if we could find the other pictures of Carina, but we are not as good at searching as you are :) Hope you start feeling better!!

Darn, i hope you get to feeling better. I hate to have the doldrums. They wash over sometimes like a huge wave. It will feel so good to get some good sleep. I hope you can tolerate the machine.

I dare NOT show this to my DH...he will want it! Not that he can afford it or afford to fix it up...but he'd want it none the less. Nice memories for you. I hope it goes to a deserving owner.

sorry about the doldrums, but I'm sure the cpap machine will help.
Great to see the inside of Carina - the book is on my kindle waiting for vacation to read it thru!

it is not at all surprising that the doldrums have hit you patty, after all thet adrenaline needed to get the book ready and then it was launched and the book signing, must have made you feel on such a high...also seeing the boat again must give you such memories-good and bad- so wishing you a lifting of the doldrums soon.
