Winter blues

Sweetie does a lot of shoveling

The winter blues are hitting me hard. During February, when many are starting to think of warmer temperatures and seed catalogs, I am looking at tons of snow.Anyone care to join me for a picnic? This is our picnic table at work.

My husband and I have been looking online at land in Missouri. That is where we plan to retire. After looking at land and talking about farmhouses, goats, cows, horses, pasture vs. woods, fences, pigs, chickens, gardens, ducks, ponds, tractors, etc. it gets very hard to look at the snow and realize this is my reality even though my dreams are full of sunshine.

Our spring break plans include SNOW machine riding. The next biggest event here in Anchorage is the Fur Rendevous, a decidely WINTER event. Then the next big thing to hit is the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, again, another WINTER event. It's no wonder that many people in Alaska head to the lower '48 or Hawaii for vacation at this time of year. Except me.

boo hoo, cry me a river, right?

Holey moley that is a LOT of snow. That white snow must be your winter sunlight. One problem Patty, there is snow in MO also.

Good thing you have your art to keep you busy.

Really, I was thinking snow in MO too too...how about California?
It's spring here almost...already.
A little bit of rain is all we can complain about and I don't...as it waters my lawn for free.

Your grands are so sweet. I am sure if you offer lots of art supplies they will love doing that with you.

I hear ya PA. The winter months always drag on and on for me too. Just remember to treat yourself now and then. Treat yourself BIG.....a massage, lunch or dinner out, a hotel weekend stay, anything to forget winter!

Just a thought.

Color. Color is what you need. Head to the gym and work out. Get all sweaty and you will feel like it is summer. ;) Your poor doggies. Does your hubby shovel them a place in the back yard to use?? They could go right over the fence if the snow is so high. I think it is that time of year of going snow crazy. I had a nice little shop the other day. It seemed to help.

You do sound rather blue. I gather you have a wonderful sense of humor, maybe that is why sanity still clings to you in all that glorious whiteness. Are you able to get many days of sunshine? That is what I must have to maintain a better state of sanity...and a lot of prayer...and a lot of knitting.
