Since my sweetie has been out of town, I'm trying to spend a little more time at my art table. I experimented with gel pens on black paper .....one is a salmon, the other is just doodling.
and then I did a zentangle......
and also copied some flower and bamboo off a plastic tablecloth from Hula Hands restaurant. I just love Hula Hands. There are two of them in Anchorage now; one in Mountain View and one on Fireweed Lane. They have the best Hawaiian food around including macaroni salad, spam and white rice.

Love the gel pen work. It is good that you have your art to keep you company while hubby is hunting. It will be interesting to see if he actually uses the camera while away.

I bought a second camera last year and now I use both a lot. My hubby thought I was crazy for needing two, but one fits in my pocket/purse so it is always with me for those priceless moments!
I've never took so many pictures as i do now that I'm blogging. Glad you got a new one.
