Internet has returned!

I've been without internet since last Saturday when a few transformers in our neighborhood blew with loud booms, sparks and smoke. Of course the power went out, but when it came back on the internet did not. I messed with it and messed with it trying (with my limited capabilities) to do everything I could to get it to restart. Oh how I wished my computer-smart son was here!

Finally after 5 calls to the internet provider (each one was very helpful, courteous and didn't treat me like an idiot) I ended up switching out my modem and it works fine. I guess the power outage created a surge, even though we use a surge protector, and it fried the old modem.

In other news......

WINTER is here! Not really, but it feels like it. I actually had to scrape frost of my windshield this morning. The mountains have received a healthy dose of termination dust (snow) and it's downright cold. Mid 40's during day and mid 30's at night.
I've been working on my raven/seagull painting each night. Here's the finished drawing.

I painted the red ribbon first because I'm always scared to get started and this was a no-brainer. I knew exactly how I was going to paint the ribbon. The rest of it I still have to figure out.

I jumped in and started painting the other elements. I'm going to have to re-work the raven paint, and also ink over it with a fine tip black pen to define the feathers.

I almost feel panicky if our internet goes down, I am so used to it being a part of everyday.
The progress on your painting is great. I'm the sure it will be splendid when done.

Wow, that's a long time to go without Internet, but glad you are back in business again.

The snow on the mountains is beautiful, but not sure I would be liking the 40 degree weather right now. Very soon we too will be headed on to a cooler trend...it's coming!

I miss that view! Most of the time i don't even think about there not being any mountians here in WI. But then I see that pic on your blog and I miss them. I like the art work. I like that the gull looks like a gull and the raven looks like a raven. Not just a bird body with different colors.

Oh geez, no internet would drive me goofy.

Your birds and ribbon are really wowzers! Beautifully done.

I must say, the snow on the mountains is quite beautiful as long as I can look at it from a distance.

Frost already! The mountain scene is gorgeous. We have at least another three weeks without frost or at least we normally have another three weeks without frost.

Your painting is coming right along. It will be great when you get it finished. Are you still doing two at one time?

Love those mountains. I can almost smell the crisp cool air!!

Your bird picture is great too. That red ribbon running through it is very eye catching.

I love the bird photo. So far no frost here even though they've been saying we're going to get some now for 2 weeks.
