In the Beginning...

I did my presentation at church today during the Sunday School portion. It went fairly well - I did mess up by holding one of the cans backwards and spraying my hand instead of the paper and I also had my glove hanging over the nozzle at one point which caused drips on the paper. But the audiance didn't know about that. They thought it turned out well. This is what it looks like before you pull off your special effects. Kind of blobby! This is my practise table on Saturday. I was all set up on the snow-machine trailer. I was trying to perfect the sequence of color, laying down silouettes, and blending techniques. This is my set up at church on the pool table in the High School room. I've learned to put my paint cans in a certain order and have my supplies organized. It's too fast-paced to do it otherwise.

Here's the final - I ended up using a smaller pan lid for the moon (in my practise pics I thought the moon overshadowed the whole picture) and I used a lion instead of a horse for the lower right. I wanted a better balance of color.

The whole presentation took about 4 minutes. I never actually timed it but my sister Alicia read through the first chapter of Genesis while I was painting. She finished before I did.

What a fun way to get jazz up sunday school. Those kids will probably always remember your story of Genesis.

Using your God-given talent to share His truths. How I wish I could have been there to see this presentation!

Your creativity and talent so inspires me. The more I see what you're doing and enjoying, the more I wish I could quit my job! I love how it goes from a clean white background to your "creation." At least I can say I've experienced that feeling. I love a clean white sheet of paper and then seeing a poem or short story that I've written and think, "Wow, I just wrote that."

PS - came home to the dog licking me and a special gift and note from you. I simply love it and I'm posting it on my next post! I would love to see you in WDC. Hopefully I'm at work and close by! If not lunch, I would truly settle for a HUG and a picture together. I've yet to meet any of my blog buddies and You and Jen are right at the top of People I must meet before I got to Heaven (smile)

Love and peace and creativity!
