It's very gray and ugly. It's full of dirt because they sand the roads all winter and that gets pushed along with the snow onto the edges of the lots. On a cloud covered day it just seems like everywhere you look, it's gray and ugly.
My sister called from WI today to let me know the temperature was 82 degrees, she had the fan going and laundry was hanging outside to dry. It got below freezing last night because we had ice this morning in the driveway and it got up to a high of about 45 degrees, but it was windy and felt cold.
I'm leaving Alaska just as soon as I can convince my husband.

Thanks for taking those pictures of the remaining snow. You are right, it's really, really dirty and gray. You need some good rain to wash the dirt away.
Hang in there!
Come on down! That yicky snow will be gone soon.
Is that possible and would you truly leave?
We are planning our retirement in Missouri. So yes, someday I will really leave, but it's not for 15 years still. I complain a lot but I really do love Alaska...on sunny summer days. And snow winter ones.
Yesterday Washington state was pretty hot but today its chilly again and the sun is not coming out.
So going south is not always the answer.
We still get rain and dampness and the drier climate has water shortages. So you are never happy lol
I like greenery It would be hard for me to look at nothing but sand and rocks but if I had to, I would imagine I'd use it as a discovery channel and venture outside to see what I could learn lol
People adapt You have to. lol
:)
Those are some ugly snow piles, hope they wash away soon.
