I'm not a big fan of boiled eggs. And I'm really not a big fan when the dye leaks through and colors the egg with blue or green splotches of color (that makes me shudder as I type it).
I forced myself to eat one this morning and it was just how I remembered it; too much whites and not enough yolk but if you get too much yolk, not good either. Even with salt.
So I'm very thankful that we only received two precious colored Easter eggs for our dining pleasure. Tim can have the other one. Be my guest.
I do like egg salad, scrambled eggs and an occasional fried egg if it's cooked so nothing is slimy or leaky. The yolk doesn't have to be hard, but it most certainly can't be drippy. Gag. And if the yolk is too runny, then I must have a piece of crunchy toast to help sop that up and make it edible.
My niece and nephew colored eggs last Saturday. It was hard to just watch but I contained myself for the most part. I finally did color one egg after the kids were done splashing the dye all over. Jadyn set aside an egg for Grandpa to eat but tapped the end so it cracked open and would be "easier to peel it". How helpful of her.

Don't forget deviled eggs! That's the whole point of our family boiling eggs at Easter, at this point.
And did you know some people purposely try to get the eggs to have the dye on them?
I did forget deviled eggs. I love them, as long as they don't have color splotches.

Don't care for egg salad, deviled eggs or boiled. Just scrabbbled w/cheese or fried over medium. While we're at it, can I have some turkey bacon, whole wheat toast and good old fashion hash browns.... Not the frozen strings they serve these days (Smile)

ohhh ! so much fun making those eggs. If you leave the boiled eggs to dry, standing up for a year, next year they will all stand like little soldiers.
So if you don't want to eat them, draw a painting on them of a face or landscape or animal and it will stand up for you in a years time without any help. After you are done just put them standing the way you want them, back into the egg box and hide for a year. Next year you will have 12 eggs to showcase. And if you emopty them before boiling and paint them and put sprinkles, they make wonderful decorations for the tree at Christmas.All home made.love those eggs.!!!:)
I actually enjoy eating boiled eggs...cold even. But I too have a problem with eating dyed ones. I close my eyes and try not to think about the dyed ones we eat at this time of year. I can not for the life of me waste them. But I had a very peculiar thought the other morning....I hesitated from giving the dog, Mr. Putter, one...because of the dye!!!!!! Something is just not right here.
I didn't even color eggs this year. I think this is the first time ever, bummer. I like coloring eggs. The pictures look fun, which I could have joined you.
