Goin' to the cabin...

Goin' to the cabin and we're gonna get snow-ow-ow (sing to the tune of Goin' to the Chapel).

So here's the plan. Tomorrow morning we are driving up to the cabin and taking our nephew JoJo and our grandniece Jadyn for an overnight trip. We will go snowmachining, they will get to sled on our hill, play dominos, and use an outhouse for the first time! Although I'm planning a bucket with seat in the cabin for their use if they get scared about having to use the outhouse. The outhouse can seem scary in the dark (even I'm a scaredy cat - I always make one of my dogs go with me.)

We are really looking forward to it. We bring them back Thursday night and then head back out on Friday with Becky's (my daughter-in-law) parents. Tim is planning to take Rick out on some long rides while Patti and I are planning to hang out at the cabin and enjoy a few days of much needed rest. I'm taking my sketchbook, a few books to read, and my laptop in case I feel like writing.
We'll be back Sunday evening so I won't be posting for a few days. I should have lots of wonderful pictures to show you when I get back though!

Wow, I'm all excited for you...how nice to take off and go to the "cabin." I hear people say that around here and it always sounds so relaxing. "Let's go to the cabin."

Since you don't have electricity at the cabin, you'll have to explain to all of us southern bloggers how you cook your meals. It must be kinda like camping? I can't wait to see some pictures.

Enjoy your mini vacation.

Oh, I wish I was there for that. Don't hit any trees! Or go into the ditches oh and no creeks.

We are waiting on one more kid to join us, so haven't left yet. I have a propane three burner Coleman stove which works for most everything. I also have a fold-up oven that fits on top of one of the burners for baking, but it needs to be in a small container. I can bake potatos on top of the kerosene heater too. We have propane, kerosene and gas lanterns for light.
