Not a Singer

We had a fun day today. Tim worked on getting snowmachines loaded on trailer, greasing axles and checking tires. He found a flat on the trailer so had to remove it and replace it with his spare. The spare will get fixed tomorrow. We had lunch at Travis and Becky's (my parent's house) - Patti made chicken enchiladas (that's pronounced On-shell-ah-dahs if you are in my family and you have to kind of sing it when you say it.)

I made it to my practise today. Yay. The quartet seems to be coming together although my voice breaks in about three spots. I cannot do high notes. O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie! Above thy BREAK and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by; Yet in thy dark streets shineth the everlasting light, The hopes and fears of BREAK thy years BREAK met in thee tonight.

We sing two verses, first and last, so I only skip out 6 times. Plus I can't hold a note as long as everybody else, so I'm sucking air in between words that aren't supposed to have a pause. Oh well, if they didn't want me in the group, they shouldn't have asked (begged) me to sing with them. Ok, maybe only one of them begged me.
I think it will be a really nice program but I'm glad I only have a small part. During practise tonight not everybody showed so I had to stand in as a Wiseman once and as Mary during another part. I'm also doing some of the set so have to make two normal doors look like Bethlehem Inn doors and then one needs to convert to a home where the wisemen found Jesus as a small child. I think by adding a planted shrub (potted fake plant) and ivy growing on the walls it will transform from Inn to Home. That's the plan anyways. I suggested putting NO VACANCY signs up when the doors are Inns, and then removing those and putting up a Home Sweet Home sign when it converts to a door, with house numbers and a mailbox but apparently they want to stick with a more realistic decor.

Ohhhhh. you slamed Mom! Hey Mom, whats the name of that street in PSP?
I think that your ideal of room at the inn and home sweet home would work better!

After thinking about Alicia's question I still don't know what to answer as I have decided that my kitchen is furnished with peach, red, black, white and blue. The red is throw rugs, hamd towels and one antique juicer. If I ever get a camera I will post a pic showing how early american dumpster fits together. Greens and Blues are way more me than RED, but I'm getting used to the idea of change in my life. I'm rolling on the floor laughing at my decor for the one big room that is kitchen, dining, crafts and living all rolled into one, kinda. Oh and yes I have a wood stove in there too....Once I paint the walls (maybe) basically it will be black and white with wood floors, cabinet doors and a blue counter top (no it is not plywood) When I look at this place I know what I will not do when I build my own space....Which hopefully starts this coming spring
Patty keep on a posting, I love it cause if I tried a high note my throat would not be able to even do the low ones....a singer I am not, but I am working on playing the violin again and am thinking about a bass again too. Just for something to do between filling the wood stove. This has been the most relaxing Holiday I can remember. No shopping at all (except on line with up to three weeks for the mail) as there is no place to shop at so I have been getting creative with what I have and I just had a lady leaving here GIVE me about $500.00 worth of quilting material and a lot of the doodads that go with it so me and that indoor machine are getting to know one another on a real intiment level.... I have made five quilts in the last month. Not going to say that they are works of art (yet) but am learning the real basics of machine work and if I had a frame I would probably just hand quilt. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you in about a week. Maybe we could squeeze in a sister lunch? sorry Krissy that your so far away

Jenny - we are definately having Christmas Eve hor de ors at Mom and Dad's house at 7:00 pm. You and JT are invited of course. Christmas Day I am reserving for Katie and Adrian and her birthday - we do that every year so that she doesn't get left out on birthdays. When you coming in and leaving? I'm up for lunch in addition to Christmas Eve. Alicia?

Sounds like your going to have a nice program. I hope you enjoy singing, even with the breaks. It's nice to see you and your family being able to chat on your blog. I wish I could get my family to comment on mine.
