Winter in the woods

This picture was taken a couple years ago when we were still using this cabin, before we bought Kris' property and cabin.

Tim went to the cabin Wed and Thursday. We've got a foot or two of snow up there. The last time we were there we thought we'd be back before winter set in so hadn't gotten everything put away. Tim had to shovel snow off the rowboat that we had left on the dock. He said there was two feet of snow on the porch that he had to clear too. One of our water jugs split along a seam because we left water in it and it froze. Squirrels have invaded our smaller cabin - we are puzzled by that because all the time we used it we never had a squirrel one in there. It's like they moved out of Krissy's cabin when we bought it and took up residence in our old one.

Tim plans to have lunch at the Kenny Creek Lodge today. It's under new ownership. Check out their website here at http://www.kennycreeklodge.com/. The lodge is only about a 1/2 mile from our cabin so the scenery and snow level are pretty much the same.
I'm leaving tonight to fly out of state to Wisconsin to visit my sister Kris! I'm so excited! To see Kris and to see her new home and new friends and new job and new town. It will be so much fun. I've instructed her to debug her house of Asian Beetles and ticks. I'll let you all know how she does.

I think you may still see an asian beetle here and there. I saw a lot here in Madison and now in Milwaukee
