Failing eyesight

You know as you get older everything starts to fail. I know I'm not that old yet, but some days it feels like it. I'm finally getting to the point where I need reader glasses. I've been needing them for some time but keep putting it off. I already wear bifocal contacts, but they aren't helping enough anymore.

Every morning when I make Tim's lunch I enjoy a little hide-and-seek game with my bread wrapper clips. You know, the little plastic square shaped clip that comes on the bread? (I used to buy bread that had twist ties, but the type we like best, Oroweat, comes with the clips.)

The clips are always orange. My countertops, made to order in the 70's are that burnt orange color. Yes, I know, it's time to remodel the kitchen. At least I don't have any harvest gold or avacado green.

You may see them easily, but this is what I search for every morning. I've made it a little easier for you, since the camera flashed you're getting better light than I usually get. Oh, did I mention that my husband has switched us over to the low energy fluorescent long-lasting bulbs in my kitchen? That are very dim? Yep, that's what I have. Bless his little energy saving heart.

So, did you find three or four clips? Ha ha, just joking. There are only three. And they are easier to see with the flash. Imagine me, without contacts, half asleep, working in a dimly lit kitchen. Now you feel my pain.

I had to start using reading glasses about three years ago when I started making jewelry. Now I use them for computer work, reading and whatever.

Hey nice countertops!!!!!!! My kitchen countertops are back from the 70's too. Whooie. Mine are yellow!

did you put #4 in Tims sandwich?

no, of course not. That's not my special ingredient, it's love. I know, that sounds really corny. But he claims I make sandwiches much better than he does because I put love into them......I know, he butters me up so I'll continue to make the sandwiches. Did you find them hard to see?

Ha! We just bought a home in May and our kitchen appliances were harvest gold with matching floor. To top it off, the walls were blue and white striped with flower patterns. It hurt the eyes! The bathroom fixtures are all harvest gold, too. I can't wait to remodel some day...

I lose bread clips on our white counters as it is. I think it'd be a lost cause on orange ones! ;)
