We're back

We got back from the cabin yesterday afternoon. Yes, the trail was bad. The portion I call Snake River was just that, a river. I've never seen this much water on the trail. And no, we don't have snakes in Alaska, I just call it snake river because the trails in that part curve back and forth and cross over each other like a pit of squirming snakes.

Since Tim had been over the trail several times he knew all the bad spots and had already figured out the best routes so it was rather uneventful coming in. Not as bad as I was expecting. He did lose a wheel on both of the trailers so now both need repaired. This made it a little harder for packing stuff in and out.
I came Wed evening and found out that Tim had been sick all day - fever, chills, fatigue and running out to the outhouse at least every hour. Poor guy. He even got sick twice which never happens to him. He spent the next 3 days feeling very poorly - up all night with more visits to outhouse and did I mention it was raining? Oh, I didn't? It rained the entire time we were there. Sometimes just down to a drizzle and sometimes pouring hard. The ground is saturated, and the 5-gallon buckets along the side of the cabin are filled with water.

We decided to come back a day early so that at least he wouldn't have to get dressed and wet several times during the night. We may go in to First Care today to get him checked out - we are guessing he either has giardia (beaver fever), stomach flu, or food poisoning.
Since he was so busy being sick, I had plenty of time to read two books, finish one craft project and start another. It was a very productive time for me.
PS - I saw only two tiny red spiders in the outhouse. All the big fat squishy ones are gone! I know they are just hibernating in the cracks, but I'm happy not to see them.

Glad you're back but that's a bummer about Tim being such a sicky.

Rain rain go away!
