Trip to Tok

We spent the weekend in Tok, AK.  It's pronounced with a long O as in Coke.  My sister and nephew live way up there.  It is a 6-hour drive from Anchorage so we left early Friday morning on a rainy overcast day.  It cleared up somewhat after we got through Sheep Mountain area where we actually had snow coming down.  On the trip up we saw a fox and a young bull moose jumped out on the road near us causing my husband to swerve the truck and stop abruptly so we wouldn't hit it.  The moose stopped too so we were able to drive on without any moose/truck crunching.  On the way back we saw a coyote.

I love going for drives - it was beautiful coming home with lots of sun.  Anchorage got snow while we were gone, but had melted by the time we got home.  I didn't take pics in Tok, but did of the ride up and back.

Light snow on Sheep Mountain

Taz found a caribou bone on one of our stops to let the dogs out.

Beautiful Alaskan scenery

You can never have too many mountains!

Very beautiful scenery.
It is nice to live and be able to see all this beauty and animals who come out unafraid. But must be dangerous to drive at night.
