The fireweed are really blooming. And those interesting little white flowers under the leaves of this plant turn into watermelon berries. In my Alaskan plant book it states that the berries make great jelly and jam.
Here's my old cabin from the lake - we have just left the little dock (the one in my header). Tim built this little cabin first for us. My sister owned the nearly 5 acres next to our nearly 5-acre lot. Then when she decided to move to WI we bought her lot and the cabin she and my husband had helped her build. That is how we came to have two cabins and almost 10 acres on this lake. We use the bigger cabin, but let guests use the smaller one if they are so inclined. However, usually our guests stay with us in the big cabin.

Wow, you have otters to watch. I have seen them but not so close. I can just see your dogs with their ears perked up wondering what those creatures are doing in their territory. HAW.
Thats so nice.
We saw a weasel run across the highway We missed it but maybe the car behind us hit it.
So sad. Why do the animals not know better than to run across busy highways.
That must be fun to have otters around lol
Two gorgeous cabins in the woods. Wow!
Love the photos. Wow, two cabins...nice.
