I'm trying to get back in the habit of sketching every day so today I sketched what was right in front of me as I ate my lunch in my car. I hate eating inside my workplace because I get interrupted too many times for it to be a relaxing time AWAY from work.
My little collection on my dashboard includes a yellow plastic smiley man that I've had for about 7 years...he's holding a pair of earrings on his arm (because I keep forgetting to bring them inside) and there is a little plastic monkey sticking out his tongue that makes me smile. I bought it in one of the gumball machine things. My sunglasses complete the space....did you notice that I'm reflected in my glasses?
When I wrote in my art journal I was feeling a wee bit grumpy from having a bad morning at work. After lunch things were much better. I hate being gone for a week and coming back to chaos.

I'm surprised you are back at work already. wow. Love your drawing of your dashboard stuff. I have a little pink panther rubber thingy hanging from my mirror. My Mother was a Pink Panther nut & found 4 of them once, gave us two & kept 2 to put in all our cars. This was YEARS ago & all but one are still with us. Our 2 cars still have them, battered & faded but there & one sits on my dresser like new to remind me of her. Wow ~ I just went down memory lane. :) Don't over do now.
Look! She's drawing!!! So happy to see this! What a fun collection you drive around with to keep you company!!! Fun.
Working already?!
Nice sketch dear but please take care of yourself will you?
have a nice week ♥
I am amazed that you are working already. You must be one of those really tough Alaskan ladies.
I bet you felt better after lunch because you really relaxed by sketching. Great sketch. I love the way you put in your reflection in the windshield.
Maybe you can sketch other things you see from your lunch in the car.
Nice sketch work and done on your lunch break. It's always tough going back to work after an absence.
I'm thinking you enjoy your lunch break in your car? That's what I used to do - read, draw, eat lunch, take a power nap, write letters - it's a good escape from the chaos!
I read in the paper yesterday about Anchorage not getting above 63 degrees yet. I really feel for you! I don't mind the rain or the gloomy skies - as long as it warms up!!
also- you don't need to send me those bottle caps - I have TONS! but if you check out Halle's Hobbies blog, you can see her wind chime she made out of them - it's really really cool!
Yay for you! So good to see you sketching and relaxing. Keep going.
