Sketch Journal

While out walking with my granddaughters, I saw interesting things on the ground that we don't have in AK so I picked some up to take back home and draw; long pine needles, a cicada carcass and a large pinecone (we have pinecones but they aren't big like this one). It was 95 degrees out, so it was not an option for me to sit outside....it might be for some of you, but for me, that's torture.

Emily was quite concerned that I was taking a BUG inside. Even if it was just a dead carcass.
Here are the girls collecting pie-cones. Emily never pronounced the "n" in the middle of Pine so it always came out as "pie" cones.

These are great sketches. I wouldnt be out there sketching in 95 degree weather either. ugh. Not sure I would bring a bug in to sketch tho.. lol Cute pix of the girls with the pie cones. :)

Your sketches are great. I don't blame you for not staying outside to sketch these things. 90 degree weather is not for many people. Love seeing the Grands.

Yep, I'd be inside too!

Great journal pages Patty. The pie-cone is especially good!
