I left my heart in VA

I'm back in Alaska, but left my heart with my three precious grandbabies in VA. My daughter emailed me this morning to say that Emily keeps asking about me (every five minutes) and "needs Gramma" and "It's not fair!" I already miss them so much.
I'm happy to be home in my own bed, petting my dogs and hugging my sweetie but now it's time to go shopping to refill the cupboards and refrigerator. I did a few sketches while I was gone and will post them later.

While I was gone I found out that someone bought our old sailboat Carina and plans to refurbish her and make a "bed & breakfast" type lodging out of her. He promises to keep in touch and let me know how that comes along. I'm excited that someone is finally taking an interest in her and will get her in the water again.

Also while I was gone (just TWO weeks) I found out that my employers have decided we no longer need a payroll clerk - they are cutting that position. This is a key position and one I don't know how we will do without. Of course they didn't even bother to ask our department, they just made the decision randomly. The majority of the work will come to me and I'm not excited by that at all. I used to have three employees but will now be down to one due to the Mayor's cost-saving measures. I'm a bit freaked out and will get the whole story tomorrow when I go back to work.

I'm hoping to get around and see what news you all have too. I've missed my blogland friends while I was gone!

Welcome home. Did you say three grandbabies? I only saw 2! Pictures of the grandson would be greatly appreciated! I hope they give you a raise when they ask you to take on the job of another person.

Can't wait to hear more about your trip. Iknow the Grands are missing you as much as you miss them. Lucky you to have 2 weeks with them. I bet the dogs were as happy, or happier, to see you as Sweetie. Can't wait to see your sketches.

Glad you made it back safe and sound and had a great trip.

My kids always said how unfair it was to live so far away from their grandma and grandpa too..
