Camoflauge

Here is a picture of some brush and trees along the side of the road.....

Did you see it?

There's a moose hiding just behind the brush! They are masters of disguise. I remember as a young girl when we walked to school (in freezing weather, 5 miles, uphill both ways!) we would often not realize we were upon a moose or two until we were just feet away. Then we would quickly scurry on by and hope they didn't mind having us walk so close to them. Usually they are pretty mild mannered and don't really care, but if you start throwing snowballs at them, or get too close, they will lay their ears back and charge at you. Then you better get behind a tree!

I did see the moose.. after you tipped us off to really look. It reminds me of an Artist, whose name excapes me at the moment who does animals hiding in a painting and lots of horses. She is amazing. How scary to come upon one when not expecting it. Glad they are mild most of the time. Yikes.

Thats so exciting. I love to see animals like this free.
In Vernon BC we drive and see big horned sheep and they are really beautiful to watch and then in Fernie of course is deer country Tons of them there.
If I lived there I would be in paradise.:)

Paul (Sandy) - of course I exaggerated! Don't we all when we're reminiscing about how hard our childhoods were and so much harder than our own kids?!!

Yep, I remember a time or two that mom would have to get out the pots and pans and make noise to get the moose to move so we could come inside the house.
