Boat Show

I've been sitting in the 2011 Anchor's Aweigh Boat Show for two days and have two more to go. I thought it would be a good venue for me to sell my book Carina.....I was wrong. I've only sold 5 books in two days, but have sold some other art and a few of my children's book so it hasn't been a total bust. I've made back the booth fee. I'm hoping Saturday will be a GREAT day to sell books!

What I've discovered is that most people (men) in AK are more interested in fishing and sport's boats; not sailboats. There is only one other vendor here who is promoting sailing; the rest are selling motors, trailers, docks, boat upholstery, river boats, rafts, kayaks, and jet skis. I find that the unwilling boat show people (wives) are the ones who come to my booth more often than not. If they have kids, it's a bonus because I have a couple of children's books on my table for sale. None of the other booths have anything for kids except for one vendor with balloons and lollipops.

Got to love sticky hands looking through your books while the parents watch. Speaking of sticky, here's an adorable picture of my little granddaughter Hailey...don't you just want to pick her up and smooch on her cheeks? My daughter called this picture "sugar craze" and I think she caught Hailey in a blink. Hailey had been eating pizza, then had a lollipop, and then a cinnamon roll. This picture puts a smile on my face every time I look at it!

Cute picture.. It's good to go with a variety of things to sell if you have it. Hoping that you sell lots more before its over.

Are you in the crappy Northway mall? Did a kind sister come by and say hi?

@ Kris - no I'm in the Dena'ina center, right behind City Hall. Alicia came by yesterday and saw me for awhile.

Too bad people over there are more interested in fishing boats and gear........
Hope you did better Saturday. Well at least it didn't cost you any money.

Those messy pictures of kids are fun.
I remember I always wanted to clean things up right away......Maybe it will be different as grandparents.....

Have a nice Sunday ♥
