2010 in review

We were talking last night about budgeting our money and making a list of all the things we want to accomplish this year. While doing so, we started to look back and would like to NEVER repeat 2010. It was a long, stressful year with a few good things thrown in.

Bad things: Went through a loan process with bank, two appraisals (you have to pay for those you know!), wastewater backed up 3 times, gas leak (line from house to garage broke), repainted two bedrooms, recarpeted entire house (moved everything twice), replaced furnace and water heater, replaced front door, replaced sliding back door, two very loved dogs got sick and died, two people from church passed away, previous co-worker died, pain in my knee for 1/2 year and my husband has had shoulder pain for much of year.

Good things: Daughter and family came home to visit, my book came out (along with all the book signings), Son and wife were home at end of year (and DIL was home for summer), bought land in MO, and we took a trip to MO.

I'm thankful for all the good stuff, and most of the bad stuff got us into the good stuff (land in MO and a good portion of our home upgraded). But it's just been one thing after another. I hope this year is peaceful with lots of good and not so much bad. We're off to a good start; I have a new puppy and we've already scheduled the attic and crawlspace to be weatherized, we're planning another trip to MO, I've got a new grandbaby on the way, a trip to VA is planned, son and wife will be home this summer, two brother-in-laws are planning a trip to AK and my knee feels better. Life is GOOD!

Life is all about taking the good with the bad. You sum up everything very nicely Patty....no complaining but just stating the facts. I applaud you.

Yes 2010 wasn't such a good year from us either with both of us being sick and having surgeries, but like you said it got us to the good stuff. Life goes on...Here's to a wonderful 2011.

WOW, I love how the pain and blessings flow all together. Joy and sorrow helps us keep our eyes and heart on GOD. Trusting in Him is all we can do. Hold on tight, I feel this is going to be a GREAT year for everyone.

Love ya!
