Sunday Sketching

I did sketch this Sunday, it just wasn't at church. Instead I sketched a couple of my neighboring booth people. Gentleman with the big nose was selling the Christmas retail stuff and Betty Boop figurines....whatever. He was nice and gave me his paper each day after he was done reading it. The other guy is the husband of the lady who made the crochet snowflakes. He was a very nice man and sat their ALL Saturday, which I told to my husband and he responded, "I'm not coming to a craft bazaar and sitting with you." Which is what I expected; I was just testing him. Then this old guy left on Sunday before the day was over and his wife confided to me that he suffers from dementia so he has to stay with her or with their daughter. It gave me a whole new perspective on him sitting there all day Saturday.

Oh people with dementia have no concept of time. They can sit all day and not know it.
Sometimes they can become difficult if they have to eat on schedule or go to the bathroom and you can't let them go alone nor leave your booth.
So you need help one way or another.
Instead of two people, you now need three. But at least you are all together and make memories this way.
My husband would come. He'd love to walk around and look at things.

A friend of mine sells hats that she makes at art shows. Her husband goes but he takes his dulcimer and plays music most of the day.

I bet your husband would sit with you if you asked him to. Maybe not all day, but I bet he would!!
The snow flakes are beautiful.
