Chicken scherrenschnitte

This is the chicken paper cutting I did for Aunt Donna. She collects chickens; her kitchen is all done in chickens. I hope she can find a spot for this!

I also framed a pig paper cutting I did some time ago for my sister-in-law Nikki. She loves pigs and has several pieces of art in her home that depicts the little porkers so I thought this would go well. She's also the one who has a pot-bellied pig for a pet.

I think I prefer black on white - what do you think? My sister has done a few of these and almost always chooses white on black or another color.....she's odd.

Yah, I prefer black on white. I think it looks like silhouettes, like just at sundown or something. But that's just me:)

So cool. So is this a stick on thing or a glue on thing?

I could use something like this over my sliding door.
Would sorta spiff things up lol

I used to do roosters to stick on my sons books. They were cut out of the sticky paper used to cover books from the dollar store.
I still have them somewhere in boxes. They were all cut out with this special sharp knife and I thought they were so grand once they were finished cause they had all these holes and designs inside of them. Boy you took me back here. lol

I think the black on white is more traditional but I like the subject matter of the white on black so much better. You are great with those sissors.

LL - I did this on paper so it is lightly glued to the black background.
K - miss and love you too! When's your next trip to AK?
B - see you soon!
Lisa - I use scissors and sharp box cutter type knife. Mines broken though so it kept retracting on me! Time for a new one!

I think if you use the sticky paper, you can take off the backing and stick it to a wall. Also if you buy the vinyl roll for the inside of the cupboards, they also have sticky backs so you have different colors and its easier to put on the wall and even wash

I'm going to be different.. I like the white on black. but, also, it would depend on how much detail the picture had... it might make a difference? You are so talented.

Being the "oddball" I do gotta say that the black on white does look really awesome. I had just really liked the few that I did that were white on dark red or dark blue paper. It was very striking but I think black on white is more traditional. Drawing and cutting on white is SO much easier than doing it on black, I think!
(I knew that Rose was asmart one!!)

I like them both, but the black on white seems more refined or something... stands out better.

I love the black on white. Do you sell them? Little messyfish would love one. Maybe we could do a swap later on if you have time? My email is messy_fish@yahoo.com.au.
