Home again, Home again, jiggety jig

We had the most wonderful time in Missouri. We visited with our son and daughter-in-law,my in-laws and saw our new property that we purchased last April.
My parents-in-law raise Boer meat goats and have a few Jacob's sheep. They had just had the sheep sheared for their wool and several of the goats are due to have kids at the end of this month.
Since the kids came down for the weekends, we ended up trimming goat hooves one day. I was the official gate keeper but did give a couple injections and helped hold a few goats. I left the trimming to the more hardy helpers like the kids!
That's my husband holding King, the biggest buck. This cat kept insisting on being part of the process.
Other projects included cleaning out a chimney on the old farmhouse - that's Steve, one of Tim's brothers, on top. My husband was at the base of the chimney raking out all the muck and throwing things up to Steve.
Another project was to get the old tractor running. Mark is quite a mechanic and did get it running.
Another day was spend shooting at targets. This is Mark and Tim. I shot a 9mm but that's all. I didn't shoot any of the rifles or bigger handguns. My sister-in-law Nikki has a pot belly pig. He was so cute. I also spent some time painting and I'll post those another day.

Mim - none of these pics are our land but the landscape is similar. These are all on my in-laws farm.

I never knew goats needed to have their hooves trimmed. I love goats. Our neighbor had one and he always walked around you so he could butt your butt lol
So I always had to stand with my butt to the wall or a post and he did not like that.lol Then he would come and chew my clothes or anything else he could get at.
I wouldn't mind having goats and sheep. They make great goat cheese and well the sheep wool would be an interesting endeavor. but I gues one would have to learn how to spin.
Such a good life this.

That's one big goat!! I hope the cat didn't push her luck up there :P

I love the PB Pig. So cute!! I couldn't do farm type life as far as raising meat. I'd name them all and never let them go. That could be a problem right there!

Nice to see you back. I hope you're quite rested and destressed now :)
