Help is on it's way!

The last three weeks have been stressful and have kept me from being my normal self. At work I've been shorthanded, my main assistant has been on vacation so I've been doing both our jobs. The other two staff members have been sick during this time and combined have taken an additional 12.5 days off during the same time frame, which left me even more overwhelmed. Plus, during that time, a friend from church passed away from cancer, and then our old dog was getting worse and had to be put to sleep. In between, I've been working on banner designs for the church sanctuary for Christmas - I've completed 5. I didn't take pictures, but will once they're all sewn up and hung up at church.

I feel worn out, used up, and ready for a vacation. The good news is that my vacation starts TUESDAY so I only have a few more days to go. We'll be gone for two weeks and I will completely ignore any thoughts of work. The other good news is my main office person is back to work today. Yay!

Today is a Chili Cook-off at work (which I organize so that's been keeping me busy too). We do this annually to raise money for Bean's Cafe, a local organization that provides shelter to the homeless. I don't give money to panhandlers, so this allows me to help them in my own way and not feel bad when I don't help them out on the street corner.

I've lost 12 pounds on my diet....I'm about ready to blow it today at the chili cook-off. One of my co-workers is making Clackity Cobb (Crab & Corn Chowder) - that sounds so good to me that I'm afraid I'll eat the whole pot. Wish me luck!!! and strong will power!

Great job on the diet Patty. Are you doing something specific like Atkins or South Beach?? I'm sure you'll have a great, relaxing vacation.

LUCK LUCK LUCK

Oh I know those times. Either too much on your plate or nothing lol
They should pay you extra or you should send a message that they don't need all those people.
This should force them to come to work hahahahaha
Just kiddin.
Enjoy your day.:)

I was just emailing Suki and she asked "what is it about October?"
It seems many of us are having a hell of a time! (flu, pets, finances)

Hurray and congrats on your 12 pound loss. Don't let a chili cook off derail your hard work! Like Lynn said, small bowl. Eat portions that won't make you gain the weight back yet still enjoy it.

I just quit Weight Watchers...look who's talking!

Things will get better Patty. Please use some (all) of your vacation to restore yourself.

You deserve a vacation Patty. You also deserve a bowl of the chowder. You can always get back on the wagon. Hang in there until Tuesday. I can't wait to see the banners.

OH Patty, I KNOW what you mean about loosing weight and dealing with lots of stress.... Some days P. swears he's going to starve to death around here cuz I've gotten rid of all the stuff I should not be eating... of course he can still eat all he wants of anything he wants but... he'll survive... just about the time I think I'll dip my weight below his, he gets just a bit lower.... grrrrr... keep up the good work... we just have to change how we eat for the rest of our lives.. that's all there is to it.... ;o) ... not so simple !
