Watercolor class

I love, love, love my new watercolor class. I feel that this instructor is teaching us the very basics of painting which I have missed in the past. Other teachers have had us follow along with what they were painting without many explanations of why. In this painting is atmospheric perspective (back mountain more blue than front mountain) contouring of hills, line of darker trees showing movement forward, field that is cooler in back and warmer in front as well as larger brush strokes as we moved from distance to closer. Each set of trees also has faint variations in color, trees in back are more blue and then more red/brown in foreground.

It was fun to see all our paintings at the front of the class together. Even though we painted the same thing, they were all different.
