Sunday Sketching and First Snow

Today I sketched our minister at the front of the church delivering his sermon. I remembered to bring my sketch pencils and book, but forgot them in my Sunday School room, which was locked after the class (my class is held in the duplex we own next door). So I was left with blue ink and bulletin...again. While in class, one of the men stood up and looked out the window. "I think it's snowing," he said. Of course we all looked and sure enough there was a very light snow falling. It didn't snow long, maybe an hour and then was gone. None stuck to the ground. However, later this afternoon, once the clouds moved from the mountains you can see a fine dusting along the top. Winter is almost here!

FIRST SNOW!! What fun. We have to wait until December or January most of the time. I always look forward to the first snow. I hope this washes away the memory of your wet and weary summer. I like your sketch. Your minister looks very serious giving the sermon.

Our daughter is coming to visit in your city in about two weeks. Maybe I should tell her to prepare for snow? Yikes.
