Book Signing Event

I had another book signing today at Borders Books - I was there from 1:00 to 4:00 which is not really long but feels like a lifetime when you are alone and bored. I did chat with several people but only sold 2 books. Here's my display with large blow-up of my book cover, map of our journey, coins I collected from different countries (some men just hone in on the coins, it's kind of funny to watch), conch shell, bean pod and shark teeth in a jar which I play with and then when I see a kid looking at me, I pour them out on the table and pick out the big ones. Then of course they want to come over and look at the shark teeth and usually their parent comes too. Today it didn't get me any more sales though. Serves me right for trying to trick kids into bringing their parents to my table! Here's where my book is when I'm not there. I didn't feel comfortable restocking their stack so I left mine down low where it was. They really should be up at eye level, but I suppose that's what all the other authors think too!

Panda is not doing so well. She had two seizures one day last week and continues to urinate in the house which is something she NEVER used to do. This started about a week before we started on the medication, so I don't think it's due to the meds although that may be making the problem worse. We started putting her in the kennel at night to solve this, but now it's happening during the day when we are home also. I really don't think she has control over it so it may be some kind of urinary infection which has nothing to do with the seizures. I don't know. I mentioned before that she can no longer catch a treat? Well, now we have noticed that her right eye is either bulging out more than before, or her left eye is receding. Her eyes are not the same size. She is also very jumpy which I believe comes from not being able to see well. Maybe one eye is going blind? In addition, she is acting neurotic like rubbing her nose on the floor cushion, licking the cushion repeatedly; stuff she never used to do. She is also panting more and it's NOT hot which can be a sign of pain, and whining more (I know Kris, hard to believe because she has always been a bit of a whiner).

I've got a vet appt on Monday and hopefully the doc will be able to give me some good answers. I feel bad for her because I think she is in some pain at times and because she seems so fearful, but I don't know what is going on.

I wish she could talk.

I'm sad to hear that Panda is not doing better. Hope the vet can give good news or adv on what you need to do.

I think you need ME at your book sale/signings to talk about how MUCH I ENJOYED reading CARINA!!!
Do you have blown up photos of yourself and sisters/parents at the time of the sailing adventure?
I would with exerpts from the book pasted to them. Something about your sister who attracted the boys, You at the helm, and the storms, and mom sewing sails. Something to appeal to everyone making the pages of the book come more alive to catch their eye (like the sharks teeth). Just an idea.
Your agent, Lynn

So sorry Panda is not doing well. I hope whatever it is clears up soon and he's back to normal.

I saw your book here at the Kenai Safeway. It was at eye level! I havent looked at Fred Meyer in Soldotna.

I hope the vet can help Panda. Sounds like she's getting a lot of things going on at once.
