Pooped

I'm pooped. Today was Bike to Work Day for the Anchorage area. Since we've had a late spring, I still haven't been bike riding yet. Sweetie got my bike down for me yesterday and aired up the tires and I was ready to go.

So this morning started out beautiful. Sunshine as far as the eye could see but only 43 degrees. I was chilly to start but soon warmed up. By the time I went through the park behind our house my calves and thighs were screaming, "Stop! We are going to cramp!" Then about a block into it, my lungs were huffing and puffing and my heart was beating hard. And that wasn't even a mile yet.

I made it the 4.5 miles to work with time to spare. My husband left a half hour later and beat me to work.....show off! My face was beet red but I felt good that I had done it. Then it clouded over and I bike rode home INTO the wind. I made it but my lower back and my butt hurts!

Will I start biking this summer? Stay tuned. I'm going to try.

A BIG high five for you Patty girl!!! Even if you were hurting, you still got on that bike and pedaled your butt to work. I'm proud of you for trying.

It should be ok He knows the score. lol Kids grow up and you still worry. lol But you have to let them go. Otherwise how will they learn?

Good for you PAK! You should definitely ride occasionally, if only to show up your hubby who drives :)

I need to get my bike out and start riding. You are an inspiration. My ride to work is about 4 miles too, but that is counting both ways.

Good job patty. It's like climbing flat top, ya did it and now you don't need to prove anything!

Yay!! You can do it! I just got a bike from my friend Dianna and I think I am going to try to ride it to work too. At least on the non-rainy days :)
