My book

Some of you have asked about the book that I'm getting published. Here's the story:

When I was 14 years old my family sold our home in Alaska and we drove to Florida where we bought a 40-foot sailboat named Carina. We lived on that boat for three years traveling from Florida to the Bahamas, Caribbean, through the Gulf of Mexico to the Panama Canal, through the canal and up the west coast of Central America, Mexico and the United States all the way back to Alaska. We sold the boat in 1979. I started writing a book about life on board Carina about 15 years ago and have slowly refined it to where it is today.

That's our boat, lower right with two masts, in Gustavia harbor on the island of St. Barts in the Caribbean.

I have a publisher in Alaska. It's the same publisher who published my children's book Song of the Raven. When I published my first book I made a commitment to the publisher to give him first option on my next book. Carina is my next book some 10 years later.

We are just in the beginning stages but he's told me we should have cartons of books delivered in about 8 weeks. I'm very excited about it!

In the pic above I'm the second from the right at about age 16. My sister, Aunt Krissy (who occasionally takes credit for my artwork and writes sassy comments on my posts) is the second from left. She's quite the joker.

I can't wait to read about your adventure. Chopped liver included.

Alicia, nothing wrong with chopped liver. Some people like to call it a pate and pay big bucks for it.

I love to hear the family story about how you all lived on the "boat".....I've learned so much from Krissy too.

And now I know why Krissy doesn't like bananas anymore!

I can't wait for the book to be published.

To all: My sisters cracki me up! That is my other sister Alicia on the far right, the one that looks like my twin. She usually writes nice comments on my blog, but not always. And on the far left, older sister Kathy and between me and Kris is my mom. Another sister, Jenny, joined us later in the trip, but she's not in this pic.

PS I will eat semi-ripe bananas but I abhor the smell.

Are you dedicating this book to your dad? Putting up with 6 girls/women on a sailboat :-)
I'm anxious to read it as I've heard stories from Krissy too.
