I took these pictures of a young moose just outside the parking lot where I work. I stopped the car and opened the door. He acted a little miffed, layed his ears back and then lowered his head towards me. I stayed close to the open car door in case he decided to charge, but he quickly resumed browsing on this willow brush. This is a young one, I looked around for a mother but didn't see her, but she could have been hidden back in the trees.
It's been an extremely busy week. We've received news that a semi-distant relative has passed away and there is property for sale across the road from the farm my MIL grew up on. My husband loves the area; he has many fond memories of fishing in the pond, running through the woods, hanging out with cousins, and hunting with his grandpa, so we decided to look into it. We have figured out financing (I think) and have made an offer. We shall just have to wait and see how it all plays out.Then another bit of exciting news is that a book I have been working on for the past 15 (yes, I said 15!) years is finally in the final stages. It's a story about the three years our family spent living on a sailboat. I should have real books in hand as soon as 8 weeks. I just need to sign a contract and supply some final wording for the back cover and a biography, approve a cover design, and then it will go to the printers.
