I've decided to add songwriting and choreography to my list of skills. (I won't quit my day job)
This is a song written for and performed by three dogs of varying sizes.
The Morning Song
jingle, jingle - pause - jingle, jingle, jingle
thump, jingle, thump, jingle, jingle
thump, thump, thump, jingle, jingle, thump, thump
(dogs lined up outside bedroom door waiting for owner to arise....dogs should move around in small circles causing thumping sounds against the door and increasing the jingles from soft to louder by end of second line)
(activity should increase sharply as dogs hear owner
Both lines should be performed simultaneously -
thumpity, thumpity, thumpity, thumpity
jingle, jingle, jingle, jingle, jingle, jingle, jingle
(three dogs run down hall ahead of owner and dance around food dishes)
This part requires human participation
Human lifts lid off container and scoops food into three dog bowls.
gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble
(all dog tails gently wag back and forth)
Slurp, slurp, slurp, slurp, slurp
(two of three finish eating and being drinking from water bowls)
(one dog moves to sliding door to be let outside)
scratch, scratch, scratch
(second dog scrambles to door and squeezes through owner legs and pushes past larger dog to get out first)
Pause for 3 minutes
scratch, scratch, scratch
(third dog now needs to go outside)
Pause again for approximately 3 minutes
scratch, scratch, scratch, scratch (three very cold dogs all push and scramble to get inside sliding door stepping on owners feet and brushing cold bodies against owners bare legs)
thumpty, thumpty, whine, whine, thumpty, thumpty, growl, bang, bang, thumpity, growl, thump
(two dogs tearing around the living room, down hall and around kitchen circle)
bang, bang, growl, growl, thump, thump, jingle, jingle, jingle, jingle
(two dogs jump and play with each other, banging into walls and occasionally crashing into owner)
Third dog quietly lays down in dog bed and watches the other two maniacs going crazy.
Owner sits down and sighs, it is now time to get ready for work.

hahahahaha! I have to tell you, it is six a.m. at my house here in Central Florida on Saturday morning. I've been up since 5 because 'Chief' decided he needed to go outside and afterwards wanted to eat and play and...
Though I only have the 1 puppy, I am also owned by no less than 4 house cats. (yes, I said I am owned) I can so appreciate not only the 'knee-slapping' humor in that 'song' but the actions of the owner who is no doubt half asleep and shocked into the waking world by the cold blast!
Seriously, I thought I would wet myself I was laughing so hard at this! I feel for you, but I also know that as a pet owner, we endure much for our furry, four legged family members!
Thanks for the laughter! At such an early time in my day, I'm guessing that if I can start my day laughing, it's gonna be a great day!
We have a little more calm start to the day. No maniacs here just LUNAtics. ;) Have a nice weekend.
roflol i am splitting my sides here. we have our little calm old snuffs who is no trouble at all, and thank goodness for that, i have brats at school, couldn't have another brat here.
Loved your song. Our five dogs start their little dance when they hear me moving up-stairs and by the time I'm to the door they are barking/whining/racing in circles to go out. I'm shhhing them cuz usually it's 4a and the kids might wake up, but they don't care.. Glad to hear others have crazed am dogs.
That's not my life. My dog is the best dog ever! It's that cats. The cats I tell you will be my death. They wind themselves around my legs when I stumble to the bathroom.
we have our routine with our 2 dogs too. I'm going to be gone for a week, so I told Bill I'm going to have to teach him the dogs routine because I'm the one that gets them up every morning (they sleep in the garage). I start out by saying "daylight in the swamps", then do the butt rubs and belly rubs, then they will go outside! It is quite comical how they get into a routine like that. Loved your "song" too!
