Cactus Monday

Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee agreed to have a fracus.
Tweedle Dum, said Tweedle Dee, had spoiled his nice new cactus.

When I was a child, there was a time when our family did not have a television. However, we did have a record player and owned (or rented from the library) children's stories on records. I remember Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee, Peter and the Wolf, Little Black Sambo (which has now been changed to Little Brave Sambo), Puss N Boots, Chicken Little and many more. I could recite most of the stories. I remember using a line on my mother once when she told me "NO" to something I had asked. I said, quoting directly from Tweedle Dum, "Counterwise you disagree I presume." I remember her laughing and eventually saying yes because she was so surprised at my response.

For more cactus fun, go to Teri's blog where you'll find all sorts of cactus creations. Happy Cactus Monday!

Dear Patty,
I remember that day and that response....it still makes me smile.
Didn't your sisters set you up to do the asking on things?...It was hard saying 'no' to you.

Love and hugs
Mom

I always love your cactus monday's!
I listened to books on record too and still have my little record player and records. When my boys where younger I would put a few of those on once in a while and that would entertain them for a while.

About the computer stuff, it is just a free background I got at The Cutest Blog on The Block. All you have to do is find the background you like, copy the java script and add it to your gadets under html/java script. It's pretty easy.

Hi Patty's mom....I love it when our mommie's comment.

I really like the story about how you memorized the saying from Tweedle Dum. You were a smart little girl PA.

Wonderful post. My daughter was obsessed with books on records. Now her 17 month old listens to stories and cartoons on the Iphone. Amazing how technology has influenced our creativity. This made me smile, so fun.
