Thanksgiving menu

So what's on the menu for Thanksgiving at your house?

We are having turkey, gravy, stuffings, and mashed potatos. Those are the staples; can't live without those on the menu. Then we are also having a delicious baked greenbean salad, baked yams, fruit, and a strawberry jello salad (the kind with the pretzel bottom).

For dessert there is a choice of little pastries, cranberry cake w/sauce and pumpkin pie.

I think we have 12 adults and two kids coming....maybe more. Our family is very relaxed about who comes, everyone is welcome.

The big event is being held at my sister's house so I don't have to clean at all. That's a good Thanksgiving! Alicia - do we have rolls? Do I need to bring chairs?

It is wonderful that your family doesn't fret over who comes and goes. We are much like that. You never know year to year who will be here but the menus is fairly set. Desserts are what are usually changed up through the years. Turkey,Dressing, Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Sweet potatoes, Green Beans, Ky Spoon Bread, Waldorf Salad, Layered Salad, Tena's Cranberry Salad, Rolls, Pumpkin Pie, Pecan Pie, Rhubarb Pie, Carrie's Brownies, Megan's Cookies. Excuse me now I must go eat something.;) I hope your Thanksgiving is great.

Bill & I are escaping to the cabin (to escape relatives...we aren't very social sometimes). not much snow up there, but we'll take a 4 wheeler in case we cant drive the truck in. Oh and we are barbequing steaks. We will cook a turkey when we get back.
have a great day!

Patty, being that Thanksgiving in NEVER at your house you NEVER get stuck with the dishes. You're lucky that Alicia does not want you too help with them. If it was at Mom's I would make you do them.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving :)

We had turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, apple sausage stuffing, corn (I would have preferred Brussels sprouts, but we were appeasing guests), buns, salad, olives, cranberries (gourmet from the can!), and chocolate cake and cherry pie.

(Also - it was the best turkey I'd ever made!)

I'm jealous of your snow (R is very much NOT jealous of the snow, though). Glad you had a good day.

I think it's time for some more leftovers...
