Natural pruning

My rose bush was naturally pruned today...by a moose. So were my lilac bushes and then he moved on to my neighbor's house. They lost a rose trellis due to the moose rooting around in the ground and then it moved to their backyard where they have a variety of vegetables and other plants.

This is actually a very young moose - probably just a yearling. It's 9:30 am and still dusk so I'm not getting good pictures. He ended up laying down for a nap in the neighbors yard. My dogs are going crazy so I haven't opened the door again to try for another picture.

Don't you just love them? I miss them now that I don't see them anymore.

I don't love my dogs bark, bark, barking. It's highly annoying.

Would your dogs chase the moose away?? You won't have any plants left after winter.

So is that moose on it's own that young or is Mama close by?

I like the moose.

Apparently in Northern MN we have moose and they're coming further south, but no one really knows why. Maybe they'll head down Kris's way. :P

Lisa - I wouldn't let the dogs out because they are stupid and would probably try to chase the moose away, but moose have been known to kill dogs with a swift kick. CL - I believe this one was on it's own, I never saw a mama nearby. It will be fine without a mama but usually they are seen with a cow at this size.
