Tim's friend

This is one of Tim's friends.

He's been working with the Jays; teaching them to eat tallow from his hand. There are three that come around but only one of them will repeatedly come and sit on his hand. The other two are still scaredy cats.

If he keeps it up they will come around eventually.

This is another of his friends, MaryAnn - she sleeps alot.
My new camera allows me to set it up in "continuous mode" which means I just hold the clicker down and it will continue to take pictures, one after the other, until I release it. I tried it out several times while he was feeding the birds. It's kind of a neat feature. I still need to perfect it since I had lots of pictures with absolutely nothing in them.

I love that picture of Mary Ann...she looks so peaceful.

I wonder if the Jay that you showed a picture of is the same type of Jay I encountered in the Boundary Waters? Those birds would come up to us while we were eating our camp food and try to steal our food!!!!

Lots of people call these birds "camp robbers" so I be it is.

OMG...I would love to be able to have some of my birds come and sit on my finger...or eat from my hand. I love my hummingbirds...and they buzz me all the time...probably wanting me to go inside and leave them alone.
