Fall (leaves are falling!)

It's definately the fall season in Alaska. We still don't have snow on the mountains but it's coming soon. It's very chilly in the mornings and I have to use my defrost to clear the windows before I go to work. We are reaching mid-fifties during the day and down to low-forties at night.
I have finished creating brochures, business cards, soap packaging labels, and ingredient labels for my sister's goat milk soap home-based business. I'm sending the package to her tomorrow. That's a big relief! I've been coming home each day from work and working on this all evening for the past 2 to 3 days. It feels good to have the bulk of it behind me. We still may tweak some of the elements but at least she is now prepared for her first craft bazaars that will probably start up in October.
Now the hard part begins for her. She has to package all those bars of soap!
My next project, which starts tomorrow, is the raven/seagull painting for my co-worker who is leaving next week. I have 6 days to draw it out, paint it, and then frame it. I should be able to accomplish it, but it always makes me nervous when I don't allow myself much time. What if paint drips in the wrong spot? What if I spill my water glass all over it? To alleviate my fears, I am going to do two identical pictures at the same time. That way if I screw one up, I'll still have another to fall back on. If they both turn out, I can give the other one to the next person who retires.

It sounds like it is getting chilly up north. It is warm and dry here. I hope it cools and rains this weekend like they say it might.

Your painting project will go ok. Think positive now. Good luck.

paint drips and water spillage could be an interesting artistic quality!? You are very busy at the moment. I bet you will be relieved when the pressure is off! You remind me of my university days, when I left things to the last minute! good luck getting the painting done!! cant wait to see it

We are loosing leaves here. seems like more than usual for this time of year, but that could be the lack of rain. Some beautiful red colors are showing now.

We are very dry here in Wisconsin, so we are loosing lots of leaves and the trees are turning a little early than normal.

Hope the snow holds off until October/November.

As much as I love autumn, I don't think I am ready yet for evenings in the 40's. Our evenings are hitting around 65 and that is cool enough for me these mornings. This morning I had to hunt down my slippers because my tootsies were chilly.
