Ever buy GUILT?

Have you ever gone out and bought yourself some guilt? On purpose? I just did.

My sister called a few days ago and told me her neighbors had a garage sale and there was an Eliptical Trainer that didn't sell. They wanted $100 for it. My BIL went over to talk to them and she called back and said they'd sell it to me for $75. So what's a plump girl supposed to do? Buy it, of course.

So my husband (who I already made promise not to nag me if I never use it) went with me in the truck to go pick it up. We got it back home and he set it up in the spare room that's supposed to be his room but we really use it for storage. I need to re-arrange my art room and somehow fit this HUGE eliptical machine in it. In addition to art supplies, I have a 20-gallon aquarium, a large dog kennel, a large dog bed on the floor and a 6-foot table in addition to my art table. The room is only 9' x 13'.

So guess what I'm doing Saturday? Yes, re-arranging the art room. We've had it 2 days and sweetie is the only one who has used it for more than 1 minute. Aaaaacccckkkkk! Why do I think exercise machines will make me thinner if I don't use them? Just something more to make me feel guilty!

LOL. sounds like you will get more exercise cleaning than using the machine! LOL

Now you need to take a photo of you on the machine so we know you are using it. You crack me up.

We had an eliptical machine for several years, and then we used it less and less. If you make it a daily routine in the cold months, you should be ok. Eliptical are really good for low-impact exercise, but you have to use them faithfully.

So you spent 75 bucks to drape your clothes over it? Well, your dressers are full so maybe this was a good ideal.

We owned one of those and I worked out on it about 3- 4 times a week, it really melted away the fat. I really lost weight when I kicked into high gear.

Oh, for that same amount of endurance now.

OOooo now that is a scary object to have sitting around. I hope you use it so you at least feel better about having it around. I hear they make great clothes hangers. tee hee...

we have a bowflex in the garage and a gazelle in the shed! neither get used. All we have ever used them for is to dry clothes and sleeping bags!

good luck with the exercise.

Yes, I buy guilt. Currently I have an exercise bike (with a very dusty seat), treadmill, ab-doer, and numerous tapes/videos that I never use.

I have several friends that exercise all the time and look great and about twice a year I'll decide to exercise and that lasts about a week. Oh, well.

To tell you the truth, there is nothing good to look at about these machines. I say throw a pretty quilt over it and enjoy the beauty of the quilt!

Wouldn't that be awesome if they did make us thinner just by us walking by them 10 times a day? LOL! I need to get working out too!!! :)

LOLO
I have a thing like this in my bedroom catching dust as well.......
I think fitness is soooo boring.
I bought it last year to recover from a whiplash.
Indeed a machine that feeds the guilt. Both my husband and I could use the exercise! Well who knows one day..........

So you live in Anchorage! Such a beautiful state!
I have been there a few times about 20 years ago. When KLM still flew there. I even learned how to ski there. I LOVE the nature there, it is so breathtaking . just stunning!
Thanks for visiting my blog .
I see you joined cactus Monday so we will keep in touch.
