Magpies

I have a love/hate feeling for magpies. I think they are beautiful, smart and fun. But they are also carnivorous scavengers and hang around our backyard hoping a baby bird falls from it's nest so they can eat it. A haiku for you.

Mapgie

Squawking, noisy tease
Shiny black and white feathers
eating baby birds

In CDB my step-dad fed them off the back porch and we had flocks of them crapping and making tons of noise.. Glad we don't have them around here.

Love the Haiku, but not the fact that they prey on baby birds. :-(

I got a summer brochure in the mail yesterday offering lots of fun things to do and one was "How to make water color cards." I'm checking my schedule and hope to sign up. Then I can have one of your crafts on my resume ;-)

Dirty birdie.
You should get a cat. I'm sure that the cat would not hurt baby birds, just the magpies.

I don't think I have ever seen a real magpie before. I didn't realize they were such bullies.
Nice Haiku!

Nature isn't always what we want it to be. The Magpies are quite handsome.

very interesting..kinda like the hawks that hang out in the pine tree overlooking my feeder...waiting for unsuspecting doves for dinner.
