I have a tendancy to forget the bad parts and only remember the good parts. Every time I go to a garage sale and see bird cages for sale, I'm tempted to get parakeets or finches. I love both - I love the chirping sounds. But I do hate cleaning up the feathers that float everywhere and the gunk out of the cages.
Looking at all my guppies inspired me to play around with my watercolors. I wetted some scraps of paper and then dripped different colors onto it, creating a washy palette. After it dried I drew some male guppies on it and then cut them out and mounted them on an ATC card.
My actual guppies are not as pretty as these...my guppies are plain old "feeder guppies" which means they aren't bred for color, they're bred for feeding other, larger fish. Even though they aren't as pretty as "fancy" guppies, I still like them.

I was wondering about the color on them!
I really like your painting. Guppies are busy little fish. Fun to watch.
I like your colored guppies. They are much more jazzy with color!
We use to have fish too and my husband did all the tank cleaning. It was a lot of work.
My kids have had fish before and they always die within a few weeks. Birds they too, but I know how messy they are and I'd be the one cleaning up after them so, no birds for us.
Pretty guppies. I prefer to keep the birds outside.
WE are currently pet-less. There is something to say for the lazy feeling it gives you, although I miss the companionship of our cats. Not really into fish and birds in the house for just the reasons you describe.
