Countdown - Day 6

Blog reason #2 came later. I was blogging with my sister and then her friends when it occurred to me that this might also be an avenue for me to share my art. I had spent some time browsing other people's blogs and found that there are as many reasons to start a blog as there are people.
A couple of my blog friends share their spiritual journeys, some share their family life, some share poetry and stories, others share their art. You all bring something different and wonderful to my world. I have found a wealth of encouragement from all these folks - since blogging I've started a sketch book (not too good about keeping up, but that will come in time!), started writing a book, I'm drawing and painting more than I have in a long time and I've started trading ATC's with other bloggers around the world. Of course, my housework time has diminished, but I'm told that true art requires sacrifice!

Thanks to all of you for your words of encouragement. I'm planning a give-a-way on August 4, my 1-year blogoversary. If you leave a comment on that day, you will be entered to win a 5" x 7" original watercolor, matted and ready to frame in a standard 8" x 10" frame. I plan to start painting it soon, but if you've followed me for awhile, you know that I am one of the top procrastinators in the world, so likely I will finish it on the evening of August 3rd!

That's nice that you want to do something fun like a giveaway. I just wish you could do your art work on a regular basis, but I also realize that you need a steady income from your real job.

Whatever you do, just keep having fun along the way.

It is difficult to ignore ones urges to create when you pop around the net visiting such creative people. Cheers.
