Dinner Success!

Wow! What a day!

Last night I decided I should bike to work today so I got up early and did just that. It was beautiful and I was very glad I did it. I worked a slightly shorter shift so I'd have time to get home and get to church and fix dinner.

I arrived home from work very HOT. It is 9:00pm right now and still 75 degrees out. It was even warmer earlier. We have been having the most glorious summer I can remember in 10 years! Every day has been warmer and sunnier than the day before. Soon we will have to rename the state Arizona.

After cooling off for a few minutes, I loaded up my car and headed to church. A young lady showed up and helped me with fixing the salad and setting up the food line. She was a huge help and made it funner. The kitchen was hot though. I brought a fan in and still had sweat running down my forehead which I daintily dabbed away.

Dinner turned out great. I had too much soup. Go figure. I think our numbers were down a little due to the sunshine. I sent two people home with containers of soup and I brought some home myself. Tim will like that tomorrow evening when he gets home. I ran out of icecream but only just barely. I think 2 containers would have been way too much. So all in all, my planning was about right. I'm going to write it all down so next time I won't have to fret.

I'm pooped now. I just want to cool off and lay in bed with the fan on me.

Well, I am glad it went well!! We went to Costco today for groceries, and I was going to try to get ingredients for potato soup, but they just don't have the canned soups required for the recipe:) Oh well, I'll make something more Japanesey.

And you were worried about nothing. Are you always going to do taco soup?

Most of our worries are made up in our minds. I knew that your soup would be a success! Maybe you can somehow work that into your romance novel???? (smile)

Love ya

Good for you for biking. When I woke up this morning it was cool again, only 50 degrees! That's pretty cool for biking, especially when there is no sun. So Anchorage has all the sunshine?

Glad to hear your soup dinner went well....you're a trooper.

We used to have International food fests at our school and we did Mexican food and pizza.
The Chilli required one 20" high pot full.

We had the most popular booth and made lots of money on it for the school.
