North to Alaska

This is looking north across Cook Inlet, picture taken from Earthquake Park...we are surrounded by mountains, hence the term "Anchorage Bowl".

While standing there I saw a tug forging his way through the ice floes. He was out in the middle where the ice was not as thick. It's amazing to watch, at first glance it doesn't look like anything is moving except the tug. But then you notice the whole ice pack is moving too, just at a different rate. The tide was coming in.
Then I swung to my left and got Sleeping Lady from a little different angle than I normally do. She is west of Anchorage. I wasn't leaning, don't know why I couldn't get the horizon to line up.....maybe something I drank? Dr. Pepper doesn't usually do that to me!

But what was in that Dr Pepper?

Your pictures make me ooh and aah...the beauty of where you live is in such sharp contrast to my state's beauty. I have never visited Alaska, but know several that have and they all speak its breathtaking wonders.
