My Upside Down World

This is my beautiful bike waiting impatiently for spring. We shall have fun together.

Never has my life seemed more upside down than this year. So far.

I have had my ups and downs at work more than ever. Employees on vacation, employee quitting, new hire, training, and year end all rolled into two months. It was hectic, but now is FINALLY settling down.

Car issues have been ongoing in those same two months but again, have finally settled down. The last issue was a headlight that was out since the kids left in early January. I finally got pulled over by the police and was given a warning. Dear sweetie fixed it the following day.

Weather has been yucky. We had extreme colds, blowing winds and finally the last week has been beautiful. Up in the low 30's and brilliant sunshine. I have been wearing my sunglasses for the last 3-4 days.

Migraine pain has been up and down too. I went for almost 3 weeks without one. What a beautiful time it was. But now have had one off and on all week. Went to work late yesterday and came home early today due to headache.

I want spring. I want my children closer to home. I want warmer weather. I want to go snowmachining. I want my new person to be trained already, I want to be retired. I want, I want, I want. But I just can't have. Our preacher is fond of saying, "It's okay to want, just recognize that you don't always get."

So, I shall choose to be content in all things. My life is good. My sweetie is wonderful (just celebrated 25 years!), I have good friends, my family is healthy, my job is wonderful. I have lots to be thankful for.
Important edit to previous post: the dog musher I took pictures of is 3 time World Champion Buddy Streeper; he made the front page of the Anchorage Daily News today. He is from Canada. I recognized his dog truck from the article. (maybe I should be writing for the ADN - I had the story first, even though I didn't know who I had!)

Thats why you didn't get my mesg at work.
Are you really going to ride this summer? Should we have a contest on who puts on more miles? we would both have to get a mile counter thing-a-ma-gig.

I'll start out riding a lot....then I'll peter out as soon as it starts raining. Then I will have trouble getting back into biking because it's just easier to take the car. That's how it went last year anyways.
