Organized chaos

We were stopped at a light in Springfield when I snapped this picture. I couldn't believe how many stoplights were strung over the intersection. After looking at the situation, we realized it was because a train track crossed the road at a diagonal right where the two roads intersected. Because of the tracks, they couldn't put light poles where you normally would. It's an interesting solution to a problem of where to put the signal lights.
